Open contests: Friday - 15 days before competition
Regional contests:  Friday - 21 days before competition
Please do not MAIL late entries - use online, phone or FAX after deadline day.

Online Entry Deadlines

Open contests:    Wednesday (10 or 11 days ahead)
Regional Contests:  Wednesday  (17 days ahead for Regional & Group events)
Note: We do not accept entries via email message; they must be submitted through the online entry system.

PHONE & FAX Entry Deadlines (open contests only)

Wednesday (10 or 11 days ahead) NOTE: No group entries accepted by phone. 
TU Headquarters is NOT open on Friday, Saturday or Sunday! Call in individual entries any time M-TH from 9a.m.-5pm.  330-666-1163 OR FAX to 330-666-1162
We will not accept any phone, FAX or online entries on Friday for that weekend's competition(s). If you have not entered a contest by Thursday (2 or 3 days ahead), you must wait and pay the late entry fee AT the competition.  (Note: Cancellations and "No Shows" will be charged a processing fee.)

Solo & Duet Dance, Solo & Duet Show Routine, Solo Dance Twirl, Solo & Duet Pom, Solo & Duet Color Guard 

After Friday (a week before the competition), late entries for solo/duet events with individual music will only be accepted for "comments only" (no awards) and they will perform in order of contest director’s convenience.  Entry information must be RECEIVED by Friday (7 or 8 days ahead of competition) to qualify for awards.

 Group Events

Groups may enter by mail, FAX or through the new online entry system. In order to have sufficient time to plan performance order, late entries for group events will be cut off on FRIDAY - 7-8 days before the competition.  NO entries for group events will be accepted after that (including the day of contest). Note: Entry information must be RECEIVED by Friday to be accepted - do not send late entries via post office.

GROUP coaches:  If you submitted an entry for group events  (for any competition) and have not received an order of performance via e-mail by TUESDAY evening before the competition, please call the office or email  twirlingunlimited@hotmail.com to verify that your entry has been received!

Upcoming Contests & Events

Note: Beginning Sept 1, 2024 the cutoff day for accepting late entries for Groups and Solo/Duet entries for Individual Music events
(Show Routines, Solo Dance Twirl, Dance events, Pom, Color Guard) is FRIDAY, 7-8 days before competition.


Current COVID policy: Masks are currently optional at TU events.  Anyone who wishes to wear a mask is encouraged to do so, but they will not be required for contestants or spectators.
Note that some competitions may also have additional restrictions, so please check the specific information for any competition you are interested in.

Cancellation Policy

We do NOT cancel any competitions - unless the roads are closed by the Highway Patrol or in case of local or national emergency.  If this is necessary, we will put a notice on the front page of the TU website.

Awards

A system of flexible awards is used at all TU open contests. This means that the number of awards presented increases as the number of contestants increases as follows:

  • 3 or less contestants:  1st trophy, 2nd and 3rd medals

  • 4-7 contestants:  1st & 2nd trophies, 3rd  medal

  • 8-10 contestants:  1st, 2nd, 3rd trophies

  • 11-14 contestants:  1st, 2nd, 3rd trophies, 4th, 5th  medals

  • 15-20 contestants:  5 trophies

  • 21+ contestants: group is split
